Graduation day at the nurseries in JLT, Dubai

Congratulations to all the Foundation children who have graduated. ‘Sharing a Shell’ was not only an incredible musical performance by the children, it was a performance that highlighted the Education in Human Values programme introduced this Academic year at the Nursery. The value of Peace, Love and Friendship was clearly delivered to the audience who were mesmerised by the way the children acted their parts, the dramatic skill, the beautiful vocal abilities definitely deserved every single round of applause.

Father’s Day at our nurseries in JLT, Dubai

Father’s Day at our nurseries in JLT, Dubai

Father’s day was an incredible opportunity for Dad and children to play together. Mobile phones were switched off. Making a cup a tea, decorating a tie, or making a dad’s face collage was great fun. To roll and create castles and cages to capture their princes and little princes, helicopter rides, bowling pins had most dads occupied. Thank you for making the day so special and the time you all took from your busy schedules.

Learning ladder nursery in JLT – Splash Day 2019

Splash Day

Summer is the perfect time to explore, and there’s nothing more fun than spending time in water. No matter if it’s in the ocean, lake, creek, community pool, or tub in the backyard, playing in the water help children grow and develop in essential ways. Though it might look like your child is just splashing around, water play can help improve children’s balance and strength. Playing in water is like playing in a brand new playground where even the simplest activities, like clapping your hands or jumping, are a whole new sensory experience. Children can experiment without worrying about falling or crashing into hard surfaces. Water also adds resistance so water play activities work as strength training. It takes more muscle strength to move arms and legs through water then it does through air. Water play allows children to explore and interact with each other. New experiences and discovering new things within shared spaces offer a great opportunity for social development. As children play, they will be excited to communicate their discoveries to everyone around them. This is a confidence booster for kids! Because water play typically occurs in a limited space with few supplies, children practice sharing with each other and working together while engaging in play. There are many opportunities for communication development and social growth during water play!

Sensory Morning Activity

This term, we invited Toddler class parents to join us for the Sensory Activity Morning.

A variety of textures and colours were set out for the children to touch, feel and play with, including, sago balls, jellies, coloured spaghetti, foam, sand, coloured rice and many more.

Parents and staff of the nursery in JLT Dubai, got involved and of course, very enjoyable messy morning.

A trip to the Ramadan Fridge 19 May, 2019

During the blessed month of Ramadan, we like to make the children a part of our initiative to share food, drinks, and happiness with others  around us. We received an overwhelming response from the parents who brought in generous donations of various food items.

The children placed these food items in care which the staff took to the Ramadan Fridge within our lovely Jumeirah Lake Towers community. Learning Ladder JLT Nurseries would like to take a moment to wish all of you Ramadan Kareem!

FS 1 visits PlayTown City Walk May, 2019

At both our nurseries in JLT, outdoor excursions and field trips are a vital part of early years learning and development. Keeping in line with the importance of role play and imagination, we took our Foundation Stage 1 groups the incredible Playtown in City Walk. They had a fanstatic time, builing like Bob the Builder, dancing as Angelina Balerina, exploring the climbing area, and watching a 3D musical show. The bus ride ofcourse is always a fun and exciting part of any trip for our littles ones!

World Book Day April

On April 23, 2019, the staff and children at both branches (JLT Cluster V and JLT cluster Q) of Learning Ladder Nursery celebrated World Book Day by coming to nursery dressed in their favourite book character. The children participated in a parade around the community, read and enacted their favourite stories, and participated in role play and puppet shows with their favourite characters. Some of our lovely parents came and read children stories from their cultures and that proved to be wonderful way for the children to learn more each other. Another highlight was our fabulous book fair at both branches by Ms. Charvi Vohra of Colour Me. The parents, children, and staff were thrilled with the variety of story and activity books she displayed for us.

Book Character day 2018

Children had lots of fun at our nursery in Jumeirah Lakes Tower. The children and staff looked fabulous dressed as their favourite book characters. The children brought their favourite story books from home and with the teachers reenacted them. Nursery manager Ms Nazima said: “All the children have their favourite books and it was so interesting listening to them discussing why they liked certain stories and characters.  It’s amazing to think that many of the stories we read had already been enjoyed by generations of children and that they will continue to fire the imaginations of little ones for years to come.” …

Sports day 2018

Sports Day:

The spirit of friendly competition comes alive on Learning ladder nursery in  jlt Sports Day.  The children participate in a wide range of sports events, cheer on their teammates and learn valuable lessons in sportsmanship.  Everyone’s a winner at LLN with children guaranteed to win at least a couple of medals for their efforts.

Sports Day is held early in the calendar year when the weather is cool. Children are grouped together and participate in a variety of individual and team sports events. The Parents are encouraged to join as well.

Events chosen are fun, safe and easy to participate in.  Typical events are relays, ball skill games, balancing, water transfers, teamwork games, obstacle course and parents race.

Objectives:

Everybody has fun;
Children learn about the extra enjoyment that competition can bring to a game;
Children build positive associations with outdoor games and competition;
They also build various gross motor skills in preparation for and on the Sports Day itself;
The children also experience feelings of team spirit and understand the value of supporting and appreciating the skills of their peers;
It’s also a way to get parents more involved in the school activities.
